Manufacturing Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Develop and support any software requirement to optimize manufacturing operations, such as test equipment used in production/operations, local apps used in manufacturing. Collaborate with Design Engineering Group for improvement, upgrade and optimization of manufacturing test equipment (hardware and software). Compile and analyze test data for yield monitoring and quality enhancement. Introduce/coach test processes to operators, regularly monitor testing process and take corrective action as necessary. Working with IT Business Group for any manufacturing apps development related to Company ERP system.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for carrying out software maintenance and software enhancement activities on legacy and new projects.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to develop software solutions for assigned tasks, appropriately utilizing good software design principles, best practices and production specifications with moderate coaching. Rigorously reviews own work.
  3. Develops software in C, C++, C# or other selected languages for products and/or applications following coding standards and in accordance with the software development methodology and release process and meets the system and product requirements.
  4. Follows standard software QA practices to establish and develop test plans and procedures for unit level code and integration with hardware and other subsystems.
  5. Recognizes and raises issues and proposes solutions for assigned tasks. Informs team of issues early enough to allow mitigating actions. Provides alternatives and recommendations.
  6. Provides continuing technical support for manufacturing.
  7. Communicates effectively within the operations group, cross functional teams and vendors.
  8. Meets multiple deadlines and objectives, setting priorities with moderate coaching.

    Plant Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for Plant Operations management and meeting of operational goals of delighting the customer, quality, safety and profitability through accountability and supply chain optimization. Provides a clear single point of (CPI Plant Level) accountability for day-to-day execution of the order fulfillment process. Provides leadership, influence, management and control for all plant operational activities including: on-site tactical planning, manufacturing, materials, manufacturing engineering, material control, receiving, maintenance and on site logistics.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Strong sense of entrepreneurship that effectively balances the various drivers that leads to enhance profitability of the site.
    2. Develops the plant operations plan to ensure that safety, quality, performance to promise, lead times and total delivered cost expectations are met, and that machinery and space resources are being utilized efficiently.
    3. Collaborates with Environmental Health and Safety Manger and Quality Manager to ensure that all production processes are safe and yield high quality. Ultimately, responsible for managing all product quality for assigned facility.
    4. Works with Marketing, Product Management and Design Engineering to ensure that manufacturing capability, key components, end items, and contract manufacturing relationships are in place at the plant level to support the company’s product marketing plan.
    5. Partners with Global Logistics and Supply Chain to develop strategic direction and improve shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory practices.
    6. Manages relationships with plant specific tactical component contract manufacturers and suppliers.
    7. Supports, manages and coordinates plant environmental, health and safety program compliance and ensures that all local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations are met.
    8. Originates, implements, and maintains practices and objectives which provide for a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes a high level of employee morale.
    9. Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity, increase flexibility in manufacturing, and reduce total cost.
    10. Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action, as necessary, on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department, as appropriate.
    11. Develops and manages annual budgetary plan by achieving optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs.
    12. Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, facility expansions, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
    13. Collaborates with cross-functional peers across the organization to ensure effective resolution of issues that affect our customers or employee-owners.
    14. Develops and executes Manufacturing Engineering strategies and objectives based on company’s strategic business plan, equipment requirements and annual operating plan.
    15. Ensures the timely preventive maintenance and repair of equipment.
    16. Responsible for the development and administration of policies and practices that assure adequate protection of transmission and distribution inventory assets and the integrity of inventory records.
    17. Prepares annual department budget and monitors the approved budget on a regular basis.
    18. Actively participates in the on-going relationship with tactical plant providers, including supplier improvement, supplier quality, contract management, joint supply chain improvements and cost improvements over time.
    19. Participates in the research, development and design of long-range strategic objectives. Works with other departmental managers in the laying out and planning of potential future operational changes.
    20. Chairs weekly quality assurance meetings involving Production, Materials, and Engineering (Custom, Design & Manufacturing).
    21. Assures an uninterrupted supply of material while maximizing inventory turns.
    22. Evaluates suppliers and provides feedback to improve performance, especially in the areas of lead time, on-time delivery, delivered cost, terms, and quality.
    23. Develops and maintains long term relationships with key suppliers.

    Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Develops methods and operation sequences for the fabrication of parts, subassemblies, and final products.  Utilizes a company-wide ERP system to drive accurate manufacturing cost estimates, shop capacity, and analyze production cost variances.  Works closely with the Scheduler/Planner to ensure production methods are established correctly.  Promotes culture changes through the use of JIT, VSM, Kaizen, Setup Reduction and TPM/OEE in a hands-on role. 

    Participates in new product introduction projects, providing labor estimates for implementation.  Responsible for maintaining accurate operations data in ERP.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Develops sequences of operation, and performs time studies as needed to determine set-up time and machine cycle times. 
    2. Maintains accurate operations data (labor routings) in ERP.
    3. Modifies labor routings in ERP as needed to cut in engineering changes or document process improvements.
    4. Estimate production costs for new products or modification to existing products and/or processes.
    5. Supports a lean, high-performance culture that encourages continuous improvement at all levels of the organization.
    6. Monitors and improves the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as data collection and interpretation from technical and operating personnel.

    • High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
    • Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.

     

    PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Sr. Maintenance Mechanic

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. Exercises technical independence in determining work methods and procedures and receives assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Performs maintenance duties, grounds and building maintenance and repair work.
    2. Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment.
    3. Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
    4. Performs skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
    5. Utilizes a wide variety of hand and portable power tools.
    6. Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
    7. Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter change and the like.
    8. Assists in the movement of furniture, materials and equipment as required.
    9. Reports needs for major repairs to Production Manager.
    10. Responsible for the security of the building under the supervision of the Safety Manager.
    11. Prepares accurate records for preventative maintenance.
    12. Troubleshoots equipment at the component level.
