Welder, 1st and 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision can set up and operates gas and electric welding equipment used in the manufacturing of metal cabinets. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Under supervision, sets up and operates different types of equipment used to weld metal cabinets and other related products.
  2. Plans details of working procedure, tools, and material requirements.
  3. Welds sheet metal using different welding positions (flat, overhead, vertical, etc.).
  4. Cleans and prepares surfaces (including sanding) to be welded.
  5. Uses cutting torch equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
  6. Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
  7. Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  8. Works from blueprint, engineering specifications and production schedules.
  9. Upon completion of welding operations, assists other areas as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash and production scrap. Assists in cleaning common areas.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

  • Must be knowledgeable of safe operating rules and procedures and demonstrate competence though written and practical application.
  • Must wear all required personal protective equipment, especially eye protection due to the considerable glare emitted from work.
  • Work involves:
    • Varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
    • Lift up to 40 lbs.
    • Occasional pushing/pulling of carts with loaded material.
    • Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when lifting, carrying, and manipulating lengthy materials (e.g. 10’)
    • Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and working on structures of varying height and length.
    • Frequent elbow/wrist movement while grasping parts and finished assembly.

Press Brake Operator/Setter, 2nd and 3rd Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up to engineering specifications various types of machines. Machine operations may include setting up, operating and programming. Responsible meeting safety, quality and productivity standards.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Under minimal supervision, sets up, operates and programs assigned machine including loading/unloading material and changing tooling.
  2. Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements. Corrects any safety issues prior to performing operations.
  3. Inspects parts per work in process inspection procedure and ensures they meet engineering specifications. Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments as needed.
  4. Prioritizes production runs to ensure that customer orders are completed in a timely manner, while maximizing machine run time and productivity.
  5. Maintains machine and tooling clean and in good shape. If applicable, replaces die and punch holders as required to ensure safe machine operation.
  6. Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.

Assembler/Packer II 1st and 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a wider variety of repetitive assembly of the company’s products into complete packages and/or sub-assemblies per engineering drawings and customer specifications. Performs final inspection of product prior to shipment to customer. May perform additional packaging tasks including but not limited to: generating and placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, component installation and fitting assembly units. The Assembler/Packer II can rotate throughout the different functional stations of the assembly processes from TeraFrame to Mixed Model line to Cabling Section to PDU Chassis to Accessories, etc. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Under minimal supervision, selects, inspects, assembles and/or packages product for final shipment to customer. Applies labels and palletizes per specifications.
  2. Inspects and maintains workplace for compliance with safety requirements. Corrects any safety issue prior to performing operations.
  3. Requisitions packaging material from warehouse, when necessary. Inspects material for shipping damage and/or supplier defects.
  4. Inspects product per finished goods inspection procedure. Informs Team Leader of any component that needs to be reworked or scrapped.
  5. Certifies that each product has completed Quality Assurance processes via Quality stamp.
  6. Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.

Production Supervisor 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for meeting the Production Department goals by efficiently managing all nonexempt direct/indirect employees involved in fabrication, paint, assembly, welding, and packing operations, while fostering an environment of collaboration and respect. Working in collaboration with cross-functional department teams while effectively meeting and executing production schedules. The Production Supervisor plays a critical role of meeting performance-topromise goals. This Production Floor leadership position oversees all shift activities, development of personnel, and holds employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, on time delivery and adherence to company policies.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs adequate line balancing of manufacturing operations to optimize personnel and equipment utilization. Ensures daily and weekly production expectations are met by effectively communicating and coaching the team to achieve department safety, quality and production goals.
  2. Reviews production schedules with Plant Manager to determine if there are any equipment, material or manpower deficiencies that might hinder their completion.
  3. Analyze safety incidents, quality problems, production machinery and downtime events to determine root cause and develop corrective and preventative actions.
  4. Utilizes a variety of reports, records and production documentation to understand the daily production requirements. Reports shift performance results in accordance with prescribed standards, using assigned tools.
  5. Leads the improvement of operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures, in order to enhance quality and attain product cost reductions. Utilizes continuous improvement methods and tools including partnering with other departments as needed in order to maintain and sustain Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Directs efforts to make adjustments to the process to ensure quality and production expectations are met while monitoring production processes.
  6. Works in conjunction with the Manufacturing Training Coordinator in the training and development of production personnel so they can perform their duties effectively.
  7. Ensures production employees are properly trained on safety procedures, machine operation, quality criteria, product specifications and any other procedures related to their job. Recognizes unsafe conditions and practices and takes action to prevent injuries and property loss.
  8. In partnership with Human Resources, responsible for employee performance evaluations and counseling.
  9. In partnership with Human Resources, responsible for hiring, terminating and promoting employees.
  10. Responsible for the scheduling of personnel, PTO approval, tracking of attendance/Absenteeism, counseling in regards to attendance issues, and general monitoring of Time Attendance of production Personnel.
  11. Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations are followed.
  12. Effectively communicates with cross-functional team members and resolves personnel problems in a timely manner. Motivate and communicate in order to maintain good morale.
  13. Openly and honestly communicates with all CPI employees to build trust and effective teamwork. Encourages employee involvement in achieving a shared objective towards CPI goals and values.

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

Independently coordinates, develops, and implements a transportation demand plan and a transportation capacity plan. Responsible for creating network models that show the transportation mode and freight capacity requirements for all the product flow volumes and delivery requirements at an established level. Identifies the optimal carrier base and determines routing/scheduling. Uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance logistics processes. Responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems and developing recommendations which support the management of logistics for the CH operations.

Responsible for the flow of materials in and out of the NB operations plant as well as the functions of cycle counting including inventory accuracy. Works with U.S. contract manufacturers to optimize freight systems to be in sync with CPI. Delegates assigned tasks to immediate subordinates and coordinates assignments to maintain workflow. Directs subordinates on department needs and evaluates performance. Assures conformance against established objectives. Accountable for quality and quantity of work produced within the shipping & receiving department.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Considers all modes of transportation, defines the boundaries of each mode, and provides a clear, cost effective transportation solution for NB plant.
  2. Develops rules for routing and reviewing routings daily to drive cost improvements; working with Shipping Team members at CPI and contract manufacturer facilities.
  3. Uses the TMS optimizer, merge in transit process, and pool point distribution methodology to determine the most direct and cost effective mode of transport.
  4. Develops and reports cost saving measurements and uses metrics to drive change in routing. Extensive analytical analysis of routes will be needed to drive improved results.
  5. Leads and implements optimization process across all CPI and contract manufacturer’s facilities for the Western part of the U.S.
  6. Investigates problems, finds root causes and develops solutions.
  7. Develops performance and freight charges reports for logistics service providers.
  8. Delegates work to shipping & receiving personnel and coordinates activities on a daily basis.
  9. Obtains quotes for transportation of product.
  10. Oversees the preparation of all paperwork used in the shipping department.
  11. Oversees the safe loading of all carriers.
  12. Schedules LTL carriers and full trucks.
  13. Prepares freight damage claims for resolution.
  14. Maintains On-time and Past Due Reason reports.
  15. Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment. Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes action to prevent injuries and property loss.

  1. Trains CPI & outsource manufacturing partner’s employees on transportation optimization processes and procedures.
  2. Leads the improvement of shipping methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures, in order to enhance quality and attain product cost reductions.

  4. Monitors the shipping processes and product quality. Directs efforts to make adjustments to the process to ensure quality and shipping expectations are met.
