Orlando Health: The Evolution in Healthcare Requires Contemporary Design and Out-of-the-Box Thinking
Recently, Orlando Health, a comprehensive, private, non-profit healthcare network based in Orlando, Fla., partnered with Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI) to create an innovative, state-of-the-art data center that supports healthcare reform in the realm of digital data, reimbursement, payment and several other variables that are evolving the healthcare industry.

CPI's F-Series TeraFrame® Cabinets equipped with Vertical Exhaust Ducts keep the data center cool by deploying CPI's Passive Cooling® Solutions, which direct hot air into an isolated return path above the drop ceiling. The efficiency of this type of cooling allowed Orlando Health to reduce the total number of CRAC units from 16 to 3.
Power and cabling was located above the cabinets which allowed for full visibility and more flexible cable pathways. Cable trays were mounted to the cabinets rather than to the ceiling, providing easy accessibility to cabling as well as making moving cabinets simple and quick.
Orlando Health sought to create a clean, consistent look and solve the various floor space issues that result from a mix of cabinet styles and footprints. The TeraFrame Cabinet provided the solution for both efficiency and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Glacier white cabinets were chosen to help decrease lighting costs -- further increasing their energy savings.
Orlando Health and CPI worked together to create a custom air box for the Cisco Catalyst 3750-E Series Switches. The air box provides additional energy efficiency and design flexibility.
