 Air Dam Kit

The Air Dam Kit creates a barrier between the cabinet door and the front of the equipment along the top, bottom, and sides of the cabinet.  When used in combination with perforated front and rear doors, the Air Dam Kit helps to channel cool air to the front of the equipment and also helps to prevent the mixing of heated air from the rear of the cabinet with the cool air at the front of the cabinet.  Use with Snap-In Filler Panels to block airflow around the equipment.

Internal Air DuctA passive duct (no fans) that moves additional cold air, up to 510 CFM at .1” of water (865 CMH at .02 kPa), from the raised floor plenum to the top half of the cabinet to reduce hot spots in medium and high density applications. Adjustable doors direct air into the front of equipment. The duct also blocks airflow around equipment so a separate Air Dam Kit is not required. Includes square-punched rails that set back 4.8” (122 mm) into the cabinet.  Not compatible with Casters, Air Dam or Vertical Cable Manager (installed in front of cabinet).

Cabinet Requirements to accommodate the Internal Air duct:
Height  Minimum = 42U
Width   600mm and 700mm cabinets
Depth   Minimum = 1000mm (when sides are installed) No minimum without sides.

When factory installed the integral front rails are positioned to protect the Internal Air Duct during shipment.  After removing the cabinet from the shipping pallet, it will be necessary to reposition the rails per the setup instructions.  In addition, rack-mount accessories cannot be installed prior to shipment.
