Chatsworth Products (CPI) offers a variety of user-friendly design tools to help IT professionals plan their infrastructure successfully.

Whether you need help selecting a product, meeting industry codes or figuring out your cable fill values, CPI has the tool you need (Some require log in to the CPI website).

Here they are:

  1. Product Configurator
Configure a custom product complete with accessories, including power or even an electronic lock. Once built, the CPI Configurator will give you a total list price, rendered drawings and offer a selection of global distributors or resellers.

  2. MasterFormat™ Division 27 Specifications
MasterFormat™ 2004, a product of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), is the most widely used standard for most commercial and institutional building projects in the United States and Canada. MasterFormat's Division 27 specifically addresses communications construction, providing specifications and instructions for areas such as data, voice, audio, video, cabling, enclosures, grounding and bonding.

  3. CPI PUE Calculator™
Determine the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of your data center cost savings when combining CPI Passive Cooling® Solutions with other cooling strategies such as water-side economizers or evaporative air-side economizers.

The PUE is the ration between the amount of power entering a data center and the power used to run the computer infrastructure within it. This means overall efficiency is improved as the quotient decreases toward 1.

  4. OSHPD Pre-Approved Products
Reduce the OSHPD approval cycle when planning installations in seismically active regions by obtaining the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Pre-Approval (OPA) numbers for several CPI products.

CPI continuously submits equipment anchorage load calculations to OSHPD to obtain additional OPA number designations for CPI products. Prior to receiving the OPA number designation, anchorage drawings can be useful if you are in the process of designing data centers in seismically active regions.

  5. Cable Fill Tables
The CPI Cable Fill Table lists recommended and maximum cable fill values for all of CPI’s cable management and cable pathway products. The table lists usable area for each cable manager and pathway product, so you can calculate cable fill for other types of cable.
