The Journey to High Density is Attainable. Intelligent PDUs Can Help.

August 21, 2018

Global data consumption continues to rise. In order to support high densities, data centers may need to increase power draw (computing power) per square foot or cabinet.

Chatsworth Products (CPI) eConnect® Power Distribution Units (PDUs) are optimized for use in ambient air temperatures up to 149°F (65°C) making them ideal for high-density applications.  eConnect PDUs are often deployed in 3-phase 208V and 415V configurations, supporting power densities as high as 35kW per cabinet.

Additionally, by allowing monitoring and control of power down to the outlet level, data center managers can take appropriate steps to minimize their energy footprint. With configurations that support as many as 60 C13 outlets or up to 18 C19 outlets in a single PDU, eConnect can be used in high density cabinets full of 1U or 2U "pizza box servers," or a few enterprise level blade servers or networking switches.

Vertical PDUs are constructed in a low-profile chassis to minimize 0U space requirements and airflow obstruction. Every CPI cabinet includes PDU mounting brackets, or you can take advantage of having your power products (vertical and horizontal) pre-installed by CPI before the leave the factory.
