Entertainment Company Takes Office Redesign to Next Level with Chatsworth Products Solutions

BrandStarBrandStar, a small entertainment production company of 26 years, produces TV programming for Lifetime®, Fox Business and History Channel. The company recently completed a renovation of its office space, including a complete update of the IT infrastructure and technology systems, resulting in a more energy-efficient environment. The new high-tech facility will enable greater efficiency and increased productivity. Now, BrandStar can stay focused on growing its business.

The Background

Brandstar needed to move its 22,000-square-foot office into a smaller, 11,500-square-foot space that needed complete renovation. As a fully integrated firm and production studio, Brandstar not only required state-of-the-art technology in order to increase productivity and growth, but also wanted a collaborative work environment to keep employees happy. 

The Challenge

As the company equipped the office with the latest media, computing and security devices, there needed to be a convergence of all the cabling back to a central location—a functional and efficient IT room that needed to support the day-to-day business demands of today and tomorrow.

For example, IT equipment and cabling needed to be well organized for rapid moves, adds and changes, as well as to be protected from the heat from server fans. Additionally, the IT infrastructure to house this complex networking system also needed to integrate the cables and servers seamlessly, in a functional and organized manner. 

The Solution

Chatsworth Products (CPI) presented a solution that included a Two-Post Standard Rack, Evolution® Vertical and Horizontal Cable Managers and a Basic Vertical Mount Power Strip.

Two-Post Standard Rack - Features a small footprint, making it the best choice in many telecommunications and equipment rooms where floor space is limited. Additionally, it has integrated grounding and bonding, which reduces labor and saves time.

Evolution Vertical Management - Vertical configuration manages premise cables, patch cords and jumper cords on the side of open rack systems. Its solid construction supports large bundles of heavy cables needed in high-density applications. Vertical managers support various optional cable management accessories to divide the interior space and manage cable slack properly.

Evolution Horizontal Management - Horizontal configuration is used above and below patch panels and network switches to organize and store cables on CPI open racks. Horizontal managers also include plastic T-shaped cable guides to organize patch cords and jumper cords as the cords enter and exit.

Vertical Power Strip - CPI Power Strips provide basic, reliable power distribution into racks and cabinets, allowing you to share a single power connection with multiple pieces of equipment. 

The Result

The renovation resulted in a fully integrated, digital office environment that allowed the company to work smarter. The new IT room keeps “the nervous system” of this technology in an organized and secure manner that will serve the company for years to come.
