Chatsworth Products Improves Physical Security in Data Center Cabinets with the New eConnect® Electronic Access Control

March 16, 2017

eConnect Electronic Access ControlChatsworth Products (CPI) recently released eConnect® Electronic Access Control (EAC), a networked locking solution for data center cabinets that allows data center managers to keep a log entry of each cabinet access remotely, adding another layer of security at the cabinet level.

eConnect EAC fully integrates with vertical eConnect power distribution units (PDUs), removing the need to power and network the locks separately. This integrated solution combines rack-level power management, environmental monitoring and remote access control into a single, easy-to-use PDU-based system.

Thanks to eConnect’s Secure Array™ IP Consolidation technology, this integrated cabinet ecosystem uses a single network connection and one interface to monitor all three elements, greatly simplifying rack management. Secure Array allows up to 32 PDUs to be linked under one network connection, which significantly reduces network deployment costs.

Main advantages of EAC include:

  • Full Cabinet Integration: Intelligent power, environmental monitoring and access control in a single PDU-based platform
  • Deployment savings: Secure Array allows up to 32 PDUs (16 cabinets with front and rear locks) to be deployed under one IP address
  • Remote Access Control: Through the eConnect interface, users can remotely program, monitor and control each cabinet access and keep a log entry for security and regulatory compliance purposes
  • Smart Card Authentication: Proximity card reader recognizes existing employee 125 kHz or 13.56 MHz RFID cards including HID, iClass®, MIFARE® and DESFire technologies

 Easy Ordering and Installation

Simplify ordering, shipping and installation by requesting eConnect PDUs and locks to be installed in CPI's GF-Series GlobalFrame® or F-Series TeraFrame® Cabinets before they leave the factory.
