CPI’s New Seismic Cabinet Protects Equipment With Industry-Leading 1500lb Load Capacity

September 17, 2014

Z4-Series SeismicFrame Cabinet - Z4-11U-113C-C12P_RIGHT_RGB72.jpgDesigned to protect and store network equipment in seismic-prone areas, Chatsworth Products’ (CPI) innovative Z4-Series SeismicFrame® Cabinet leads the market with a 1500 lb equipment load capacity.

This market-leading performance was verified by the stringent shaker tests required by Telcordia Technologies GR-63-CORE. To get a GR-63-CORE certification, an enclosure, for example, is loaded to maximum capacity and mounted on a shaker table. The shaker table simulates an earthquake (up to 8.3 on the Richter scale) and shakes the enclosure front-back, side-side and up-down at different levels of intensity. The enclosure must keep all the equipment operational during and after the test to pass.

Additionally, this robust cabinet has a frame design that is very similar to non-seismic data center cabinets, eliminating the need for extra bracing along the sides, which can interfere with airflow, cable or power management.

Available in multiple size options, including a unique model with a narrow width to accommodate deeper equipment while maintaining a small footprint, CPI’s Z4-Series SeismicFrame is a complete solution for data centers that want to prevent downtime during and after seismic events, without compromising cable, thermal and power efficiency.
