New Energy Efficiency Improvement Act Recognizes the Value of Proper Data Center Infrastructure

April 14, 2014

Data Centers

Last month, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the Energy Efficiency Improvement Act, which requires commercial and federal facilities—particularly data centers—to operate more efficiently.

H.R. 2126 also endorses the development of best practices, and the deployment of energy-efficient and energy-reduction technologies in federal data centers. These federal  facilities consume about 10 percent of all U.S. data center energy use, according to The Green Grid Association.

If it becomes law, every federal agency will have to consider:

  • Advanced metering infrastructure
  • Energy-efficient data center strategies
  • Effective power management tools
  • And building energy modeling, among other things

CPI can help

Here at Chatsworth Products (CPI), we're always striving for data center solutions that expertly combine quality with the highest energy efficiency possible. CPI’s Passive Cooling® Solutions are the perfect example of this.

Providing superior equipment cooling performance, while reducing your data center cooling energy costs, CPI’s cutting-edge products are proven to maximize your cooling efficiencies without the need for additional CRAC units, in-row air conditioners or liquid cooling solutions.

Some recent product highlights include the new Build To Spec (BTS) Kit Hot Aisle Containment (HAC), a field-fabricated solution that arrives on a pallet with only eight unique components for highly customizable applications, and CPI’s N-Series TeraFrame®, which which features complete airflow isolation like no other cabinet in the industry today.
