Regional Sales Manager – Power Products (3 positions open: Northern California, Mid-West, and East Coast)


Sales professional responsible for selling the organization’s products/services with a focus on power products and related accessories to major accounts by contacting established customers, end-users, contractors, and developing new prospects. Leads the development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. Strong knowledge of various channels key to power product sales success and how they relate to the current channel and distribution landscape at CPI. Uses specialized training within the power product/service line(s) to maximize sales efforts. Collaborates with other Regional Sales Managers in the territory to maximize all product sales.



  1. Maintains a sales program within the territory based on customers’ estimated requirements.
  2. Informs customers of supply and price trends and assists in inventory control.
  3. Keeps informed on new products/services and other general information of interest to customers.
  4. Responsible for securing and renewing orders, arranging delivery dates and other incidents to actual selling.
  5. Calls on existing and potential new customers.
  6. Keeps records and makes reports on all phases of activities.
  7. Participates in national and regional trade shows.
  8. Makes organization’s services available to customers.
  9. Establishes public relations posture with all accounts and potential customers. Maintains effective working relationships.

Technical Competencies: 

  • BA/BS degree in business/technical field.
  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years field sales experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry with excellent track record.
  • Extremely proficient in knowledge of PDU’s and power requirements within a cabinet and within a Data Center environment.
  • Prior experience working with a ‘Power manufacturer’ preferred.
  • Must be a highly motivated self starter and team player able to produce consistent sales growth.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, planning, written and verbal skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Data Center Design, specifically Power and Thermal Management of Data Centers.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
