Tech Tip: What is the Difference Between an Evolution® g1 Single-Sided, Evolution g2 Double-Sided and an Evolution g3 Combination Vertical Cable Manager?

Chatsworth Products’ (CPI) Evolution Vertical Cable Management is designed for larger, heavier cables such as the Cat 6a UTP. 

Evolution g1 Single-Sided Cable Manager

  • It has plastic T-shaped cable guides (fingers) only on the front and a door.  
  • It is used to support and manage large bundles of cable on the front of the rack. 
  • Used on Two-Post or Four-Post Racks into the horizontal manger or into the equipment.

Evolution g2 Double-Sided Cable Manager

  • It has the T-shaped fingers on the front and rear, and includes a curved front door and a flat rear door. 
  • The internal mid-sections can be moved to create 40/60 50/50 or 60/40 front/rear split of the internal cable management space.
  • Also supports and manages large bundles of cable on the rear of the rack.
  • Used on Two-Post or Four-Post Racks into the horizontal manger or into the equipment

Evolution g3 Combination Cable Manager

  • It combines a single-sided vertical cable manager on the front side and multiple large, open cable rings on the back side. 
  • With rings located on the front and rear of the manger, it allows for large bundles of cables to be supported on the rear and for patching cables on the front.
  • Used on Two-Post or Four-Post Racks into the horizontal manger or into the equipment
