WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., October 2003—Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a 100% employee-owned leading manufacturer of structural support systems for technology equipment, enhances security within data center environments with the introduction of two advanced electronic locking solutions for cabinets.
Information security is of vital concern to operators of data centers, co-location facilities and other telecommunication rooms where sensitive information is stored. In order to address one of the most important requirements - the physical security of datacom cabinets – CPI has partnered with leading electronic lock manufacturers to offer two locking solutions that ensure security, accessibility and reliability.
The Digilock® Electronic Keypad Lock is a wireless, programmable solution that unlocks using a simple keypad or an electronic key which is supplied with the system. The Digilock Electronic Keypad Lock is designed for users who desire a smart, but simple solution. The lock can be instantly programmed to accept single or multiple codes, or an electronic key. Optional management software upgrades cabinet security by increasing programming options and providing a detailed report of lock activity.
The Dirak® Electronic Swinghandle Lock, another new solution from CPI, adds another dimension to cabinet security. Available in two configurations, a keypad and proximity card reader, Swinghandle Locks incorporate networking capabilities, including the ability to monitor, program and operate the locks remotely. Remote monitoring makes it possible to pinpoint cabinets that have been left unsecured, as well as how long and by whom. Swinghandle Locks can also be daisy chained so that a single Swinghandle Lock unlocks each lock connected to it. This master/slave configuration is especially convenient for users with multiple cabinets.
Both electronic solutions forgo use of traditional keys, providing convenience and reducing the risk of misplaced keys. To design an advanced system perfectly suited to your application, call CPI Technical Support at 800-834-4969.
