Cabling Installation and Maintenance (CI&M) regularly hosts informative webcasts that are accessible at any time after the conclusion of the live event.

Recently Chatsworth Products (CPI) participated in a webcast titled "Cabling, Power and Thermal Management Technologies in the Data Center".

Three topics were covered:

  • Using and Characterizing Bend-Insensitive Multimode Fiber in Data Centers
  • Achieving Effective Airflow Management in Challenging Networks
  • The Benefits of Overhead Power Distribution in Mission Critical Applications

During the webcast, CPI, the pioneers of Passive Cooling® Technology, addressed the need for effective airflow in challenging networks. One of the balancing acts a data center administrator must achieve generates from the acknowledged best practice of implementing front-to-rear-breathing network equipment, coinciding with the value that comes with the non-standard airflow paths of some network switches.

The presentation provides assistance in achieving that balance, by describing how to maintain as efficient an airflow as possible, while also realizing the advantages of non-standard-breathing networking equipment.
