Celebrating Our Independence in More Ways Than One

It’s first and foremost the official, federal holiday commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4, 1776, but the Fourth of July has long been synonymous with all things all-American and all things summer. In this case, that means a whole lot of apple pie, baseball, barbeques, pool parties, road trips, summer vacations and… employee ownership and eConnect® Power Distribution Units (PDUs)?! Hang on a second! We can explain.
Chatsworth Products’ (CPI) independent spirit began way back in 1991 when 90 employees joined together to buy out the Dracon Division of Harris Corp. using what’s called an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Of course, what started there in Chatsworth, Calif., USA has since grown to offices and employee owners all around the world, but it’s that same, strong sense of determining our own fate and success that keeps CPI well grounded and always mindful of our humble, homegrown beginnings.
In our mission to address today’s critical Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure and industrial enclosure needs with products and services that protect your ever-growing investment in technology, CPI is also proud to support the federal, state and local governments, including military and government departments, agencies, and administrations, that purchase and install CPI equipment in many of their mission-critical installations.
That includes CPI’s line of eConnect PDUs, which help power data centers and equipment rooms the world over and support remote environmental monitoring and access control from the same piece of hardware using the same software and network interface.
