Are CPI Products LEED® Certified?

What is LEED®?
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. It is one of several programs of The United States Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
At this time the USGBC does not recognize Division 27 products toward the calculation for LEED points for either re-cycled content or production proximity to the job site. Division 27 refers to products used in areas such as data, voice, audio, video, cabling, enclosures, grounding and bonding.

Additionally, BICSI is launching an initiative with the USGBC TO have geographical and re-cycled content of Division 27 products count in LEED point calculations.
