Industry News: Dell Opens New Solution Center in Round Rock, Texas

June 27, 2011

While its name has long been synonymous with personal computers, Dell's reputation for successful technology products extends well beyond the desktops and laptops that fill college dormitories and home offices. Servers, switches and other large enterprise networking gear that bear the Dell logo are all staples of the IT industry.dell_logo_400.png

Earlier this year, the company solidified its commitment to the business sector with the announcement of a $1 billion investment in technology solutions and services. Now, a major part of that investment comes to fruition with Dell's most recent announcement - the opening of a brand new Solution Center in Round Rock, Texas - the first of its kind in North and South America.

Part of a global network of 22 planned Solution Centers across the world, the Round Rock Solution Center will utilize a spacious 10,000 square foot facility in the heart of Dell's corporate headquarters to showcase a variety of business applications, including IP development, IT architecture and engineering using Dell's hands-on "proof of concept" approach.

Steve Schukenbrock, President of Dell Services, says the Round Rock Solution Center "emphasizes Dell's evolution to a services and solutions company providing our customers with broad-based capabilities and expertise that will help them succeed." A part of that evolution? Dell's recent strides in cloud computing capabilities, which visiting customers will also be able to "test drive" during their Central Texas trip.

Of course, no visit to the Austin, TX area is complete without live music, BBQ, and a visit to the Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI) Research, Development & Training Center (RD&T). For those headed into town to visit Dell and explore new IT solutions, we warmly welcome all to make the five minute drive north from Round Rock to Georgetown, TX to our RD&T center - where you'll have the opportunity to explore our entire line of IT infrastructure. Did we mention that our infrastructure storage solutions are highly compatible with Dell IT solutions?
