Tech Tip Video: Improving Thermal Management in Raised Floor Environments

November 06, 2018

Chatsworth Products' (CPI) Raised Floor Grommets help to mitigate bypass airflow through new or existing cable openings in data center raised floor environments. CPI has offered the popular rectangular grommet, but many customers shared it was simply too large for some applications or spaces. In response to this feedback, CPI is now offering a 4" Round Grommet that shares many of the same features as the rectangular grommet, but that is better suited for smaller spaces or where there is a lower quantity of cable.

The 4" Round Grommet features include:

  • Durable nylon brushes: provide a seal around cables to reduce bypass airflow
  • Split two-piece design: allows for installation along the edge of a raised floor tile. This approach does not "capture" cables and allows for quick tile removal without disrupting your network.
  • Smaller form-factor: perfect solution where space is limited
  • Durable sealing materials: will not break, tear or deform from repeated use

Watch the video below to see how the round grommet is installed in a floor tile, and to learn more about how it helps improve thermal management efficiency.
