WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., January 2006—Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a leading manufacturer of systems designed to organize, store and secure IT infrastructure equipment adds the TeraFrame™ Cabinet System to its product offering.
CPI's new TeraFrame Cabinet System is infinitely configurable and can be personalized to meet specific data center needs arriving quickly to meet your busy schedule.* Available in three different widths (600, 700 and 800 mm), 12 heights and 17 depths, choose from 612 standard sizes to configure a customized solution.
Designed to solve thermal issues in the data center and lessen the need for expensive cooling equipment, the TeraFrame Cabinet offers advanced thermal control with no single point of failure, thus delivering a Tier 4 solution for high density applications and protecting expensive computer equipment. Choose from a variety of options and accessories to achieve maximum cooling.
CPI's Snap-In Filler Panels block airflow through open rack-mount space, keeping hot air in the rear of the cabinet. Secure filler panels to the square-punched equipment mounting rails of the TeraFrame by snapping into place, eliminating the possibility of misplacing hardware. When used together with the Air Dam Kit, airflow is blocked around the top, bottom and sides, directing cool air to equipment.
To seal cable openings in access floors use the KoldLok® Raised Floor Grommet. This double-layer closure
seals around cables to prevent the escape of cold air, thereby reducing cooling costs and increasing cooling
performance. The KoldLok Raised Floor Grommet is easy to install over existing holes without re-cabling and
permits large cable bundles and power connectors to pass through openings.
Move hot exhaust air from the rear of the cabinet to a drop ceiling plenum or high point in the room with CPI's
patent pending Vertical Exhaust Duct System. This system attaches to the top of 1200 mm deep TeraFrame
Cabinets and should be used with a perforated front door, solid rear door and solid side panels. CPI's patent
pending Airflow Director is included and mounts at the bottom of the cabinet to direct hot exhaust air into the
space between the back of equipment and the rear door.
CPI's patent pending Internal Air Duct channels cold air from the access floor plenum to the top half of the
TeraFrame, reducing hot spots in high heat density applications. Adjustable doors allow users to manipulate and
direct cold air to the front of equipment

The TeraFrame Cabinet System offers cable management to keep network and power cables separate, control
power cord slack and support multiple power strips or PDUs for full power redundancy, while still allowing critical one-way airflow throughout the cabinet space. Designed for fiber, Cat 6a UTP and all other media, the TeraFrame Cabinet makes it easy to trace cables during moves, adds or changes.
Choose CPI's Vertical Cable Manager to guide cables into each rack-mount space using T-shaped cable
fingers. Attach to equipment-mounting rails and adjust along cabinet sides. Create a front-to-back pathway
between two Vertical Cable Managers by adding Front-to-Back Cable Managers.
The Rack-Mount Cable Shelf used in conjunction with an Air Dam or Internal Air Duct creates a front-to-back
pathway for cables without compromising critical one-way airflow through cabinet space. The shelf offers brush
openings for cables along the front panel to prevent the loss of cold air and provide slack management for fiber
patch cords.
Support multiple strips/PDUs and create a separate pathway specifically for power strips and power cables along
the side of the TeraFrame Cabinet using CPI's Vertical Power Manager. This power manager attaches to the
cabinet frame and adjusts in depth to match equipment requirements.

From the welded steel construction down to the door hinges, TeraFrame adds to the strength, support and security of IT equipment and cabling. Precisely designed latches provide multiple security and key management options.
All TeraFrame door options have hidden hinges that cannot be tampered with and the captive hinges eliminate
loose parts. Swing handles cannot be operated in the locked position and locking recessed spring-loaded latches secure side panels onto the cabinets frame.
Monitor environmental security and network equipment conditions with the patent pending technology found in CPI's Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM-600) system. Internal and external sensors provide remote monitoring, logging and reporting of temperature, humidity, water, power outages, smoke detection, sound, motion, intrusion,
and streaming images from network cameras, with several customer configurable notification options.
With the capacity to connect up to 31 nodes to each host, monitor up to 256 environmental sensors, 2,048 IP addresses and port anywhere in the customers network, the RIM-600 presents an abundance of capacity and function without a large investment in host and node equipment. |
