January 2013 - Chatsworth Products Offers New Energy Management Solutions for Enterprise Data Centers

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – January 2013 - Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), will continue its mission of providing innovative cost-saving strategies for data centers during the BICSI Winter Conference and Exhibition in Tampa, held Jan. 20-24.

eConnect PDUsIntroduced through a technical seminar that uses ASHRAE guidelines to help optimize airflow management strategies, as well as an interactive exhibition of eConnect power distribution units (PDUs), CPI will provide BICSI attendees with the tools needed to maximize efficiency and reduce energy costs within data center and networking environments. The 3-hour seminar will be held Monday, Jan. 21 from 1:30-4:30pm, while a full line of CPI Products and Solutions will be on display throughout the conference and exhibition in Booth 701.

CPI is presenting the seminar "Turn Up the Heat: How to Reduce Costs through Airflow Containment and New ASHRAE Guidelines" as a new pathway toward reduced cooling costs in data centers. Utilizing new ASHRAE recommendations for higher set points on cooling equipment and an explanation of effective approaches to aisle containment, "Turn Up the Heat" will be presented by CPI Global Technology Manager Ian Seaton and Application Field Engineer John Thompson.

Those  attending this seminar will be able to:

  • Optimize data center airflow containment on the cable, cabinet and aisle level
  • Reap specific financial rewards connected to higher temperatures in the data center as suggested by ASHRAE's new "Thermal Guidelines for Data Processing Environments"
  • Use specialized flow charts to determine a personalized ROI based on specific applications

Hot Aisle ContainmentIn addition to this presentation, CPI will exhibit a wide range of products and solutions on the BICSI exhibition floor. Visitors to Booth 701 will have hands-on interaction with a Hot Aisle Containment Solution, presented with Glacier White F-Series TeraFrame® Cabinets, as well as the patented Evolution® Cable Management and CPI's new eConnect PDUs. eConnect PDUs are at the forefront of innovative power management solutions with an industry leading ambient temperature rating of 149˚F (65˚C) and the ability to centralize monitoring and switching needs by connecting up to 20 PDUs from a single IP address.
