Product Description
Manually transfer critical load from UPS power to utility power to prevent power interruption when repairing or replacing the UPS. Two styles are available. For 1kVA to 3kVA UPS, a 1U rack-mount module provide surge protection on input power and a toggle switch for easy transition between utility and UPS power. For 5kVA to 10kVA UPS, choose from several modules that attach to the rear of battery packs and provide several higher power output options.
Key Features and Benefits
- Power Distribution - Adds receptacles and bypass functionality with power distribution capability in one enclosure
- Replace or service the UPS - while maintaining power to critical loads
- Easy Installation - Both UPS and Utility power are connected with supplied cords
- Simple to operate - LED Indicators verify availability of UPS and Utility sources prior to transfer of load
- Surge protection on BDM1x models - loads are protected even when UPS is in bypass mode
Product Information
Key Features of UPS Bypass Distribution Modules
UPS bypass modules provide a reliable path to shift load from the UPS to utility power when service or repair is required. The built‑in bypass switch enables operators to move critical equipment without interruption. This functionality is essential for maintaining uptime in modern data‑center environments. UPS maintenance bypass units extend the same capability to larger power ratings, supporting UPS systems from one to ten kilovolt‑amps. They are engineered with surge protection to safeguard downstream devices even while the UPS is in bypass mode, and they form part of a family of maintenance modules that simplify service. The modular design allows quick installation and removal, reducing service time. By using a UPS bypass module, facilities avoid the risk of power loss during routine maintenance, protecting servers, networking gear, and storage arrays. The clear LED indicators verify utility and UPS availability before load transfer, enhancing operational confidence. The bypass functionality also acts as an UPS block, isolating the UPS while power continues, helping meet industry uptime standards. CPI's bypass distribution solutions integrate seamlessly with existing power distribution units and enclosure designs, offering flexible output receptacle options. Customers can configure input plugs and receptacle layouts to match their specific infrastructure needs. The products are engineered for global availability and rapid customization, aligning with CPI's commitment to rapid product customization. Technical support from CPI ensures that each UPS maintenance bypass unit is correctly specified and installed for optimal performance. The worldwide distributor network provides local service and spare parts when required. Choosing CPI's bypass modules delivers long‑term reliability for enterprise, hyperscale, and telecom data centers.
