Product Description
Oberon® Wi-Tile® Ceiling Enclosures 1047; Locking Suspended Ceiling Tile Access Point Enclosures – Economical, locking, suspended ceiling Wi-Tile enclosure mounts and secures Wi-Fi APs flush to the ceiling. This metal enclosure replaces a standard ceiling tile, and it's larger back-box is suitable for larger APs and antennas. APs are mounted in the door, or inside the enclosure in models with the ABS or frosted polycarbonate plastic dome. The interchangeable door simplifies AP and antenna moves, adds, and changes.
Model 1047 is recommended for new installations to accommodate larger 6GHz-capable Wi-Fi 6E and 7 APs.
Three styles are available to match the ceiling grid type and size:
- 1047-XXXX: Lay-in flange for standard flush grid ceilings
- 1047-XXXX-T: Tegular flange for recessed grid ceilings
- 1047-XXXX-600MM: 600mm flange for European metric ceiling grids
Key Features and Benefits
- Secure APs and Network Connections - Large back-box designed for securing most vendors’ enterprise Wi-Fi, DAS and Small Cell APs
- Optimal Wireless Coverage – Mounts AP parallel to the ceiling, revealing only the antenna face of the AP for optimal wireless coverage
- Use in Plenum Spaces – Metal backbox and included firestop grommet for cable egress meets code requirements for enclosures in plenum spaces
- Simplify Service – Access the AP and network connections without disturbing surrounding ceiling tiles
- Address ICRA Concerns in Healthcare - Enclosure back-box is an effective dust barrier to simplify healthcare ICRA procedure compliance
- Easy to Upgrade – Large backbox and interchangeable door permits simple migration to new APs and antennas
- Attractive Finish - Attractive, textured, powder-coat finish matches many ceilings

Key Features of Oberon Wi‑Tile Ceiling Enclosures
Oberon® ceiling enclosures provide a robust, locking solution that replaces a standard ceiling tile while housing enterprise‑grade Wi‑Fi access points. The large back‑box secures the AP and its antenna, delivering consistent wireless coverage across dense data‑center environments. Built from 16‑ga aluminum with a powder‑coated steel flange, the enclosure meets UL listing and NEC plenum‑space requirements. Designed for plenum installations, each unit includes a fire‑stop grommet that supports two Cat6A cables, creating a certified dust and smoke barrier. This feature helps facilities meet ICRA compliance in healthcare settings and simplifies fire‑code approvals. The interchangeable door options allow quick access for service without removing surrounding tiles. The Wi‑Tile™ design positions the access point parallel to the ceiling, exposing only the antenna face for optimal signal propagation. This orientation reduces signal loss and enhances performance for 6 GHz Wi‑Fi 6E and emerging Wi‑Fi 7 devices. Compatible with leading vendors such as Aruba, Cisco, and Ruckus, the enclosure accommodates a wide range of AP models. Installation is straightforward: the enclosure mounts to the building structure using hanger wires, independent of the suspended ceiling grid, and fits both U.S. (2 ft x 2 ft) and European (600 mm x 600 mm) tile sizes. Dimensions are 23.75 in x 23.75 in x 3.05 in (603 mm x 603 mm x 77 mm), with a 25 lb (11 kg) weight limit for internal equipment. Oberon® enclosures are engineered for future‑proofing; the interchangeable door lets users migrate to larger or newer access points without replacing the entire mount. Combined with CPI's design tools, customers can configure accessories, select door styles, and generate CAD models to streamline deployment in any enterprise or hyperscale data center.
