WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., July 15, 2004—Chatsworth Products, Inc. (CPI), a 100% employee-owned leading manufacturer of structural support systems for computer and communications networks, introduces the following enhancements and accessories for CPI’s freestanding cabinets.

• 2,000 lb load rating (with or without casters) 
• Thermal Management: Airflow Baffles, Intelligent Fan Doors, and blower accessories 
• Power Management: UPSes and PDUs 

The total CPI Cabinet Solution integrates equipment support with physical security, remote user access monitoring, cable management, thermal management and power distribution, so businesses improve equipment lifespan, decrease downtime and increase long-term returns.

2,000 lb Load Rating and Upgraded, Heavy-Duty Casters

CPI improves the load-bearing capacity of the M-Series MegaFrame® Cabinet, C-Series SlimFrame™ Cabinet and T-Series SteelFrame Cabinet, so that each will support 2,000 pounds of equipment. The corresponding Caster Kits, which provide full-swivel and locking capabilities for easy mobility, have also been upgraded to support the additional load. Previously, each cabinet held 1,600 lb (without casters) and 1,000 lb (with casters).

New Thermal Management Solutions

CPI introduces new thermal management solutions to protect equipment from overheating. Airflow baffles draw cool air from either the aisle or the plenum floor into the front of the cabinet while forming a barrier against hot air in the rear. In addition, rear-mounted Intelligent Fan Doors draw heat out of the cabinet. The fans speed up as temperatures rise. CPI also released an Air Intake Filter Kit and Blower Duct as accessories for its popular Delphi ECS Enclosure Blower.

New Power Management Solutions

CPI greatly enhances its Power Management Solutions with the addition of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) – in collaboration with MINUTEMAN® – and Power Distribution Units (PDU). When used in combination with power strips (also available from CPI), the products provide clean, continuous and redundant power.
