2022 Year in Review
December 21, 2022
Here at Chatsworth Products (CPI), and for many others across the ICT industry, 2022 has been a year of progress renewed and adversity overcome.
Whether helping customers and businesses further adapt to remote and hybrid work or the quickening pace of digital transformation through an endless stream of new technologies and platforms (5G wireless, the Internet of Things, wearables, VR headsets and so much more), CPI has been with you every step of the way, introducing new products to market, opening a new global HQ, helping others grow through new training and development, providing new resources, tools and services to make your jobs easier, and getting back to a busy calendar of forward-thinking, practical and productive in-person networking and exhibiting events all across the world.
Thankfully, we also made it a priority in 2022 to renew our core values, embody the spirit and ingenuity of employee ownership and recommit ourselves to one another through team-building, appreciation events and helping our local communities.
Let's take a look back at the highlights for CPI in 2022:
January & February - It's So Good to Be Back (In-Person) Again!
After two years of non-stop virtual learning and networking, CPI was thrilled to join participants in-person again at late January/early February's 2022 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, FL. Whether it was CPI's Motive® Cable Manager featuring in the always-popular Cabling Skills Challenge or giving many attendees their first in-person look at CPI's ZetaFrame™ Cabinet System, the show was packed, the discussions were deep and we have the pictures, videos and more to prove it.

March - A Big Show in CPI's TX Back Yard
With in-person tradeshows and conferences making a comeback, CPI was once again happy to be in the building and ready to share the latest ICT infrastructure products—this time, for the data center. That included a full display of CPI's increasingly sought after eConnect® Power Distribution Units (PDUs), ranging from Basic to intelligent, Switched Pro configurations. Best of all, with Austin, TX hosting this year's Data Center World, we were only a stone's throw south from CPI's Research, Development & Training Center in Georgetown. Have you been yet?! April - Making a Run for It (and More Importantly, a Good Cause)
While we worked hard in the office and out in the field in 2022, we also found time to have fun and give back to our local communities in the process, thanks to various ESOP events throughout the year. Back in April, CPI Employee Owners from our New Bern, NC facility (and some of their kids!) volunteered at the Neuse River Bridge Run, helping pass out water and soak up the spring sunshine. May - CPI Introduces Rack-Mountable UPS Solutions to Ensure Uptime, Protect IT Assets From the Data Center to the Edge
In today's interconnected, "always on" world, the rising need for intelligent, remote power management at the edge is a must for any organization working to protect IT assets and ensure uptime in nontraditional environments. It was a good thing then that CPI's power management solutions portfolio expanded in May with the new product launch of a full line of rack-mountable, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) battery backup solutions in both lithium-ion and lead-acid configurations. June - ZetaFrame™ Manufacturing Comes to the United Kingdom & Europe
During a year when markets and enterprises dealt with global supply chain issues that challenged shipping and delivery, CPI made a commitment to help ICT customers and partners in the U.K. and Europe by announcing new manufacturing capabilities directly in the region, and as a result, helping squarely address the challenges and put better service first.

July - CPI's Drive Forward Webinar Series Brings the Power (over Ethernet)
In a year that saw record attendance for live and on-demand versions of CPI's popular Drive Forward Webinar Series (some of which are BICSI CEC certified), it was a great time for ICT professionals—from data center managers to architects, contractors, installers and engineers—to find topics and training suited to them. In one such session, CPI experts discussed the latest advances in Power over Ethernet (PoE) and how it's shaping the infrastructure used to support these changes.

August - Thinking Global, Acting Local at CPI's Mexico City Training Center
With plenty happening stateside for CPI in 2022, the company was just as active across the world. During the summer, that included CPI's Latin America team welcoming end users and customers to the return of that region's popular seminar series highlighting the latest technology infrastructure advances. September - There's Nothing Like a New Product Catalog to Have & to Hold
For what's become one of the industry's most popular and resources, we hear all the time from customers and partners how the CPI Product Catalog is an essential part of the work day, not just for the product information and ordering details it provides, but for the simple fact it's one of the few remaining physical, hard copy catalogs you can get from any ICT infrastructure manufacturer. It just so happens that this year, we released our 30th (!!!) edition.

October - A New Global Headquarters to Call Home & Serve Customers
When CPI celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021, it also announced plans to open a new global headquarters in Simi Valley, CA. After three decades and lifelong memories at our original Chatsworth, CA plant, the time finally came to officially make the move that was months in the making. And with a place to unite CPI's California corporate and production teams under one roof, the official opening couldn't have happened at a more fitting time than National ESOP Month, which celebrates the spirit and value of employee ownership.

November - A New Company Video to Highlight What CPI Does Best
To help mark the big occasion of CPI's new global headquarters, the company debuted a brand new video that not only offers an up-close look at that impressive new facility and its state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, but more importantly highlights CPI Employee Owners from around the world and their passion and commitment to helping delight our customers and provide the products and solutions that help form the foundation to the world's digital transformation.

December - Making a (UPS Start-Up) List, Checking it Twice
It's only fitting that one of the biggest product launches of the year—CPI expanding its power management and protection portfolio with a full array of UPS solutions—would come full circle in December, with the recent publication of a brand new UPS Start-Up Checklist. This handy new resource document helps customers answer a series of questions and recommended best practices to ensure that their UPS solution is ready to operate at the highest level and ensure their IT assets are protected and uptime is ensured year-round.

It's amazing to look back and realize what an action-packed, event-filled and innovative year it was, but we couldn't be more excited for even bigger and better things in 2023. Here's to a happy holiday season to you and yours and a prosperous new year ahead. We'll see you in January!
