HCAI OPM Seismic Pre-Approval

What Is HCAI OPM?
HCAI Pre-Approval of Manufacturer's Certification (OPM) is a voluntary California program for review and pre-approval of seismic design for supports and attachments used in health facility construction. Obtaining OPM pre-approval speeds up the permitting process for installations in seismically active regions.
The OPM program is one of several pre-approval programs administered by HCAI's Facilities Division, Structural Support Unit (SSU), and Inspection Services Unit (ISU). HCAI was formerly the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).
OPM pre-approvals should be referenced in Construction Documents for CBC 2019 and 2022 based projects, and may also guide ICC IBC based projects for facilities outside California.
