Oak Ridge City Schools

When Oak Ridge Schools in Tennessee launched its 1:1 student device initiative, the district needed a reliable IT foundation to support thousands of Microsoft Surface tablets, digital learning platforms, and high-speed connectivity across eight campuses.
To meet this demand, the district consolidated multiple telecom closets into a centralized, purpose-built K-12 data center with high-density server cabinets featuring Chatsworth Products’ Vertical Exhaust Ducts and intelligent Monitored PDUs. Using Secure Array® IP Consolidation, Oak Ridge connected and monitored up to 48 PDUs through a single IP address—simplifying management, reducing costs, and strengthening resilience.
As a result, Oak Ridge became the first district in Tennessee to earn STEM certification, proving how modernized IT infrastructure can support digital learning environments and long-term technology readiness.
